I love me a good backyard wedding -
especially when your backyard looks like this!
rob and becky were married yesterday at her parent's incredible home in Brighton, MI - it was a perfect fall day!

and a stunning couple!

My fave:

the ceremony:

amazing light...

fall colors! yay!

I loved all the little details these two worked on - so beautiful!

first dance

here's a view of the reception set-up....not bad, huh?

Congrats Rob and Becky!

Hi Becky: I received the pixs on line from your Great Aunt Freda in Niagara Falls. They are beautiful. It has been years, I mean years and years, since we have been in contact with your side of the family. Your Dad sent me some pixs in the mail also. Good luck and I know you future is going to be a happy one. Your Cousin Geri (from North Tonawanda)

What can I say about this wedding? It was every bit as fabulous (and more!) as I knew it would be.
Nick and Dustin were married yesterday in a fairytale ceremony at Cranbrook, followed by a swank reception at the Troy Marriott. As I was going through the photos, selecting some favorites to blog, I initially flagged over 70! LOL - it was just that amazing of a day. So here's just a tiny sampling:
Our handsome grooms:
the wedding party

These two are so handsome, it is just ridiculous!

**SWOON**

A few from the ceremony

HUSBANDS!!

LOVE this one (the grounds at Cranbrook are just insanely beautiful - I could have kept them out there to shoot all day! Thankfully though they budgeted plenty of time for photos).

And here's Tommy's take of the same moment from the opposite side (i'm crouching somewhere in the wheat!)

So very dapper...

The reception was just as awesome - they basically transformed a hotel ballroom into a hip, intimate nightclub...

And the party was hopping - music box DJs Sherman and Aaron kept the dancefloor packed!

Nick + Dustin - congratulations! Your love for each other is truly an inspiration. It was such an honor to spend the day with you guys ;-)
PS - I said i'd have this blog up today - and I have exactly 2 minutes to spare!! Have an awesome honeymoon!

Lynze and Mark met while studying abroad in Japan, and I loved how they incorporated elements from that culture into their day: a cherry blossom cake, decorative paper cranes, gourmet fortune cookes for their guests, and Lynze's kimono-style dress all lent a distinctly Asian flare to the event ;-)

Such a fun day! They are so in love - it's really heartwarming to watch! I seriously did not have to give these two any direction - just pointed the camera at 'em and they did the rest! Here's some favorites:
Lynze getting ready

beautiful afternoon light

we're finally starting to see a hint of fall colors!

Love this one-

Lynze and Mark - congratulations, and thanks for sharing your day with me! Have a wonderful time in Italy!

Rachel + Ryan had a beautiful wedding yesterday at the Henry Ford Museum.
We started the day at the Dearborn Inn, where the whole crew was getting ready. I always enjoy this part of the day!
Rachel looked amazing - (hair + makeup by Sylvia @ bridal beauty on location)
the guys

the gals...

this little flower girl may have been a little bored, but she sure was cute!!

right before the ceremony...

walking up the aisle with dad

exchanging their vows

man + wife!

some portraits at the museum gardens

how much do you love that Rachel rocked bright green shoes!? ;-)

here's a little 'inspiration board' of all the cute details. I loved the crisp, classic feel - and the silhouettes are to die for! (flowers by one enchanted evening)

first dance

here's Ryan thanking their guests

I love the hallways at the henry ford museum - the light! the chandeliers! just gorgeous!

the Intrigue band were phenomenal - really kept the dancefloor moving!

Abby the work you do is amazing! Many of the guests commented that you stayed at the reception later than any other photographer would have, and they were amazed at how many pictures you took. I want to thank you for posting these pics I stepped away for just a few minutes and I missed the cake cutting so thank you, now I understand why everyone was laughing so hard. Thanks, Lori (mother of the groom).

I loved everything about this wedding!
Emily and Jon were married in an intimate, laid-back affair at Cobblestone Farms in Ann Arbor. their day was such a perfect representation of the kind of couple (and people!) they are - no DJ, garter toss or cake cutting - just good friends and family celebrating together. It was a total blast to photograph. more people should get married in barns. for reals!
here's the bride

a few from the ceremony...

Cobblestone is such a fun place - (i'm a sucker for old barns....)

cupcakes = yum!

i like the shadows here...

Jon + Emily - congratulations! It was great fun spending the day with you!

This was pretty much a perfect day!
I got to photograph Sarah's sister Donelle's wedding last year, so it felt like we were all old friends! Matt and Sarah are an absolutely adorable couple - and so in love, it was just a joy to be around them ;-)
I started off the day getting ready with the girls at Sarah's parents' place.
Amber from Luigi Bruni did an awesome job with Sarah's makeup

SO PRETTY!!

helping dad with his bout...

And here's our handsome groom relaxing with his pals before the ceremony

the ceremony was held at the First Baptist Church in Dearborn - the same church Sarah's parents were married at!

a quick stop at their townhouse for some photos with Tang the kitty!

and than it was off to the war memorial in Grosse Pointe

cheers!

a moment alone in the ballroom...

love this shot of sarah thanking her guests...

check out Matt's super-sweet groom's cake!

first dance...

hi donelle and joe! Happy almost anniversary!!

rings on reese's (courtesy of the candy bar!)

Mike Staff DJs did a great job of keeping the party going - but, is it ever *really* a party until the air guitars come out? ;-)
