It's been such a pleasure getting to know these gals! I'm shooting Katie's wedding next year, and recently did some headshots for Sarah. So when Emily's 21st birthday came around, they decided to get a session for her! I love that ;-)
Anyhow - are these not the prettiest girls ever?!
i just love this one - it really captures their relationship!

the birthday girl - lookin' gorgeous!

another of my favorites:

AWWWWWWW!!

thanks ladies! so fun to see everyone and I can't wait for the wedding!

Another fun family session taking advantage of the pretty autumn season!
Technically, this was two familes (plus some grandparents!) - so here's just a tiny sneak peak:

total cuteness overload!!

This little gal was happiest when running free (or reading her scooby book) ;-)

Enjoy the preview, more to come!

meet baby aiden!
I shot mom and dad's awesome wedding just over a year ago - and now they've welcomed this little cutie! One of the best parts of my job is getting to see 'my' couples' new babies - i love it!
loves me some baby toes!!

So adorable...

and here he is with mom...

Congratulations Dan and Heather - so fun to meet the little guy!
On a side note - just want to say 'thanks' to all of my clients for their patience. I know lots of you are waiting anxiously for your proofs/albums/etc, and I promise I am hard at work! Between wedding season in full swing, and getting settled into my new studio, things are little busier than normal. Hang in there! I'll be launching special holiday pricing soon just to say thanks!

This was my first shoot at my new studio (more on that later!) - the area around the building is just awesome for urban sessions ;-)
Anyways, I first photographed this family about a year ago - it's such fun to see how the boys have grown!

I shot a couple of fun family sessions this week - we lucked out with some perfect, crisp fall days! Here's some quick favorites from the first session:
I met the mom of these cute boys through Food Gatherers, a local non-profit working to fight hunger in Washtenaw County.

what a cute family!

I just adore this one - such a fun, quirky family portrait!

Enjoy the preview!

What a cutie!
I was so excited to meet this little guy...

I photographed mom and dad's wedding waaaaayyy back in 2005 (i think?!) I went through my archives, thinking I'd post a photo from their wedding day, but - gasp! - I shot it on film! Probably one of the last that I did - crazy how much things have changed in just a few short years....makes me all nostalgic!

Anyhow - their little guy is such a doll!

Kym + Ed - Such fun to see how your family has grown! Enjoy the little preview ;-)

I'd been looking forward all week to this shoot - but Saturday rolled around and we had just about the worst weather imaginable - i'm talking grey skies, constant downpours - the kind of day that makes you just want to curl up with a good book and some hot chocolate!
But these guys totally took it in stride! Rescheduling wasn't really an option, as we had some out-of-towners along, so we decided to meet up at their home and go for it.
I personally love these kinds of 'real-life' sessions. I imagine that images like these will really be treasured as years go by and kids get older ;-)
Here's some favorites!
Dad with the newest little guy
getting some love from grandma

sisters

babies always have the BEST eyes!

this little guys had a TON of energy! and i love how in this image, his big smile is mirrored by his cousin's in the background

awwww!!

Thanks guys for inviting me into your home! enjoy the preview!

michele is getting married Saturday, but we met up earlier this week to take some bridal portraits of her. I always love doing shoots like these, since on the actual wedding day there isn't always time to devote to making these sorts of images.
Anyhow - here's some favorites!
I spotted this cool setee at a neighbors house awhile back, and knew right away I wanted to use it in a shoot! I thought this would be the perfect opportunity. I just love this image - it has such a whimsical, alice-in-wonderland feel to it!

something a little moodier:

how gorgeous is michele!?

i love this sun-drenched look

thanks michele for a fun session - can't wait for the wedding on Saturday!
and special thanks to Tommy and Spencer for serving as chief couch-luggers ;-)

Isn't she the cutest 2-year-old ever?! Get a load of these blue eyes!

I met Claire's mom at Ken + Jody's wedding last month, and was so excited when she called me to schedule a family session!

What a cute family ;-)

mom and dad aren't too bad lookin' either - I see where Claire got those eyes!
