it's annual 'buy local week' - so head donwtown and go shopping!

The latest think local first directory will be out this month - be on the lookout, or swing by my studio for a copy.  I'm proud to be a member of this organization, and some of my work is even featured in the upcoming directory.  Check out the think local first website to learn more!

I've been super-busy shooting and editing these past few weeks - but wanted to share some photos from election night - I've made a point to keep my personal politics off this blog, but what an amazing and historical day!!  These are from my point-and-shoot (hence their relative sucky-ness) - but I think they still sum up the mood ;-) Untitled-1.jpg

I kind of wish I'd had my 'real' gear with me to properly document the evening (my inner-photojournalist never rests!) although just being part of the celebration was amazing...plus, seeing as I managed to somehow lose my keys during an impromptu parade through downtown, it was probably for the best that my 5D was safe and sound at home ;-)

vacation?  in the middle of wedding season!?  that's right folks!  I'm headed out bright and early tomorrow to spend the week getting some (much needed!) R&R!  My mom and me are having a girls getaway at canyon ranch!  anyone who knows me knows what a spa junkie I am.  there are few things I enjoy more than getting pampered - and canyon ranch is pretty much the mecca of spas - I am beyond excited!  I'll be spending the week getting ridiculously indulgent treatments like body thermal wraps and energy renewal therapy ;-)

so - this means I will be less reachable than usual this Monday through Friday.  I will have my phone and laptop on me, so don't hesitate to get in touch - just know it may take me a bit to get back to ya.  but fear not - those of you still waiting for your slideshows/proofs/albums/etc - hang in there!  i'll return totally refreshed and ready to dive back in!

thank you to ALL my fantastic clients for their patience and understanding!

....with my new washer and dryer!!  Is that wrong?

oh sweet, sweet whirlpool duet...you bring me such joy with your sleek design and steam refresh setting....

As you can see, operation 'pimp my laundry room' is well underway!  We decided to paint a bright primary blue - because, well, we can ;-)  We've been so indecisive with colors for the main areas of the house, it was nice to just make a choice and GO!

and look!  We *finally* got a table!  After (i kid you not) 7 months of looking and saving, we decided on this bent plywood beauty from bludot.  I *love* it!!

now we just need to find some chairs that are worthy ;-)

I'm leaning towards one of these bright yellows for the dining room walls - maybe with one grey accent wall.  I'm loving yellow and grey together these days!

thoughts?  ideas?  anyone feel like playing interior designer with me?  ;-)

We obviously LOVE the idea of contrasting colors in the house! Especially opposite walls! Great idea! I always have wanted to do a room all one color. then have an eye level stripe of a different color all the way around. That could work for ya!
