these two are getting married next September at the Henry Ford Museum - it's gonna be a great wedding! They were in town recently, so we decided to get together for an engagement session. They suggested Ashleigh's grandmother's house in Brighton, which turned out to be absolutely perfect - really stunning grounds! Here's a couple of faves:
She has the most amazing blue eyes!

yup - that is snow you see! The first snowfall of the year ;-)

Thanks for braving the cold guys, and for laughing and cuddling so nicely on demand ;-)

Oooo, I love these. There is such a warm quality to them even though I KNOW how chilly it has been around here. My favs are the first 2 and the second to last one with the snow! She has incredible eyes! Beautiful job Abby! (p.s. I am so patiently waiting to see pictures of the new studio...ah hem)

Wow! Great location! All the shots are spectacular, but I think the B&W shot captures the connection between Chris & Ashleigh the best.

As soon as I met David and Ashley, I knew they were "my people" - i'm so excited to get to work with them on their wedding day!
We met up last week for an engagement session on what I fear may be one of the last nice days of 2008 - we definitely made the most of it!
I love how happy these two make each other!
how adorable are Ashley's freckles?!

soon the pretty fall colors will be gone...

some election day humor ;-)

LOVE these next two:

Thanks Ashley and David! Can't wait for the wedding this spring - it'll be here before we know it!

Looking forward to the wedding this spring!

It's been such fun getting to know these two over the past couple of months! I shot Sara's sister Amanda's wedding in June, and have done portraits for her other sister Kate's family. Those who've been in my studio know her adorable niece Taylor Rose as the cutie from one of the huge canvases that graces the wall.
Anyhow - it's finally their turn! I was stoked when Sara and Alex suggested U of M's North Campus as a location. I spent lots of time up there as an undergrad in the art school - but hadn't been up that way in forever! It's a gorgeous spot, full of first-class photo opportunities (the campus was designed by mid-century modern design icon Eero Saarinen)...
Without further ado - some photos!!
How cute are they ;-)

Maya Lin's wave field - also known as a)the elephant graveyard or b)world's most challenging bocce ball course

Here's where we got a little crazy ;-)

I love that these two were game to get soaked all for a great picture!

Welcome to my new blog! Neat, isn't? I really wanted something clean and uncluttered, that focused on the pictues. I am so pleased with this new design (by the good people at into the darkroom). I still can't believe how HUGE the photos are! The interface is so much more intuitive - and it's way easier to leave comments, which always make my day ;-)
Certain areas are still 'under construction' so keep checking in for fun new features - but the basics are in place - so here we go!! Remember to update your bookmarks and RSS feeds so you can follow along.
First up are Brad and Dana, who are getting married in just a little over a month. We met up recently for an engagement session - I'm so excited to feature them here! Their wedding is going to ROCK!

So pretty! Ya gotta love a fella who can rock out a pink shirt ;-)
Thanks guys! So looking forward to the wedding next month!
